Once upon a time and not so long ago, a little Morkie named Mindy came bounding into my life- a two and a half pound fluffball of energy. She was demanding, stubborn, and spoiled- and totally stole my heart. I started to sketch and paint her as she grew into a twelve pound loving adult dog. One portrait led to another, and another, and another… and as they say, the rest is history.

I found I could combine my love of painting with my love of animals. Drawing on my background of jewelry design and fashion, I use luxurious silk charmeuse as my canvas, translucent silk dyes and paints as my medium, and sometimes I’ll add crystals or semi precious stones to my paintings.

With each painting I strive to capture the unique personality of your dog, although my style is not photo realistic. Comments from some of my clients include ”I’m amazed at how well you’ve captured my dog’s personality.” With my quirky joyful style, my goal is to make you smile each time you look at your painting.

My husband and I live in beautiful North Carolina where the gorgeous colors found in the gardens, the mountains, and the ocean, constantly influence my paintings. Mindy continues to be my muse, my inspiration, and my loving companion.
